This is a full-time position, and the Music Director reports to the Rector. Limited flex/tele-work is possible. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. A master’s degree in music is preferred, and the music director must be an excellent organist and choral conductor, having a positive temperament and strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Working knowledge of the Episcopal Church and our liturgies is required, along with experience and fluency in Microsoft Office and G-Suite.
The Music Director is an integral part of a team of staff, lay leaders and neighbors and will work collaboratively to create beautiful liturgy, play our 3 manual/38 rank DiGennaro Hart organ, recruit and supervise visiting musicians, and support our Spanish language service. Other functions include building our program to create musicians of all ages, including choirs of adults and young people (voice and bells) and RSCM Chorister Program, planning performances and productions in coordination with other church and community programs, providing music education for the congregation, and planning strategies to ensure a flourishing music program for the parish through budgeting, communications, and oversight of all church musical instruments and music library.
